The Power of Patience
It’s easy to keep at something when things are going your way, when you’re consistently rewarded for your hard work and effort. When things are slow, when you feel like you’re walking through mud, it’s almost unbearable. Time feels like the enemy, fighting against you through boredom and frustration.
“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.”
- Leo Tolstoy
Tap into your patience and understand its strength. Sometimes it’s not just working harder or putting in more hours. Sometimes you just have to wait. And waiting is hard, especially if you’ve just spent your last energy.
Time may feel like the enemy, but you have the weapon of patience. Patience is equally powerful when used, but so few of us use it. We get angry and disappointed, leading us to make rash and foolish decisions. We want to see results. We want to know if what we’ve been working at was worth the effort.
Be patient. Wait for the fruit of your labor. Patience rewards us with great satisfaction and the payment of just results. Put in the effort. Work hard. But don’t forget to be patient. Go and do God’s work.
